ERA 6 - Time of regents and kings

 

This era is about the 17th century (1600-1700). In several countries absolute power of princes/kings increases, like Louis XIV of France. Other princes/kings try to but fail eventually, like Charles I of England. It’s the century of rising royal absolutism.

 

The Republic of the Seven United Netherlands is ruled by regents and develops a unique administration. During the 17th century the Dutch Republic flourishes both economically  and cultural. It experiences its Golden Age.
